VELS Levels 4-6
An African Experience is an interactive learning program that enables students to delve into the heart of one of Africa’s most serious and complex environmental issues…wildlife and human conflict!
On arrival, students are encouraged to step outside the safe confines of Werribee Open Range Zoo, and enter Africa, to walk in the shoes of another for a day.
Students board the safari bus in character roles assigned before departure. On their return students are presented with a challenge that will have them participating in a lively, interactive role-play that investigates the motives of the other characters!
Using the understandings developed through the role play students will determine how they can contribute to a tangible conservation action for wildlife in Africa.
