Zoos Victoria Voices Strong Concern Over Devastating Deforestation Plan

Zoos Victoria has strong concerns about the proposed clearing of more than 30,000 ha of rainforest in the Bukit Tigapuluh National Park in Sumatra.

This is an area of great environmental importance. It is some of the last remaining habitat for critically endangered species such as the Sumatran orang-utan, tiger and elephant.

Zoos Victoria strongly urges the Asia Pulp & Paper/Sinar Mas Group to not proceed with this environmentally devastating proposal.

We urge the Australian community to make their voices heard on this important issue by signing this petition http://www.gopetition.com.au/online/27907.html
