Jason Coleman dances with the devil to support conservation

Jason Coleman supports the Tassie Devils
Fresh from the finale of Network Ten's So You Think You Can Dance, Jason Coleman took off his judging hat and stepped into Healesville Sanctuary to highlight the plight of endangered Tassie Devils and support the work of Zoos Victoria's conservation programs.

"All Australians should be voting to save the Tassie Devils. They are wonderful creatures and unique to Australia - it's great what Healesville Sanctuary is doing with their breeding programme to try to ensure Tassie Devils are around for a long time to come. We don't want them going extinct like the Tassie Tiger!"

In a new Community Service Announcement to be aired on Channel 10 from the 17th May, Jason is encouraging dance and animal lovers alike, to become a supporter of Victorian zoos by making a donation or adopting a Tassie Devil.

Without intervention, the extinction of the Tassie Devil is now a very real possibility due to the deadly Facial Tumour Disease, which is threatening the survival of this iconic species.

Healesville Sanctuary is implementing a breeding program to help build an important mainland insurance population of Devils. In 2009, the Sanctuary successfully welcomed 27 Tassie Devil joeys into the world, and is expecting even more this year. It will need the help of the Victorian community to get behind it and donate.

Join Jason today and help us save species like the Tassie Devil today by making a donation or becoming an animal adopter.
