Zoos Victoria (ZV) currently does not have an established voluntary work program besides its Secondary or Tertiary Education Work Experience programs. However if you are not a Secondary or Tertiary student you can join ZV as a volunteer by becoming part of the:
• Preferred keeping candidates list - If you are part of our preferred keeping candidates list you may be eligible to become a volunteer within our Life Sciences department while a job opportunity arises. For more information about this, visit our Becoming a Zookeeper section.
• Experiences and Learning Volunteer - Applications for the 2011 intake of volunteers are now open.
General information:
This volunteer program is for people interested in developing their skills in engaging students in learning experiences.
Volunteers assist with delivering unique programs to children aged 5-18 years old.
The opportunity is open to people enrolled in or completed a tertiary education qualification or have equivalent experience in a teaching role.
Applications close End of Business on Wedensday 2nd March 2011.

• Friends of the Zoos - (FOTZ) provides an excellent voluntary support service to Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary. (Please note that FOTZ volunteers have no animal contact and that FOTZ is not a means to employment with the Zoological Parks and Gardens Board.) For more information visit the FOTZ website.
